Morgan was one of about two dozen rats rescued after being dumped off the side of a mountainous hiking trail in Abbotsford, BC. Rescue groups Small Animal Rescue Society of BC and Homefinders did an amazing job trapping out and then rehabilitating all the rats. Several of the rats were injured gravely, including Dennis who did not survive despite emergency surgery and poor Morgan who had a massive abscess at the base of his tail. He had surgery to repair it and then spent many weeks being carefully nursed back to health by volunteers, chiefly Lizzy of SITH Rattery. He and the others also had to be treated for fungal infection and parasites. Despite the clear neglect on the part of their former caretakers, these little guys are so sweet and friendly and clearly so glad to be with their new, loving owners. Morgan, who is now neutered, lives with a whole cage of lovely lady rats and serves as their handsome cabana boy. His previous life may have been miserable, but we are doing our best to ensure the rest of his life is as happy as possible. We love this dear shiny coated gentleman with his definite zest for life and great capacity for play.
